The MEF Pumpkin Patch on Doyle Road in San Jose is a community patch run by the Moreland Education Foundation. In 2026 it runs from Friday, October 9 through October 31.
Does it cost anything to get in?
No. Admission is free, and the movie nights are free too. A concession stand sells food, drinks and desserts.
Is the haunted trail okay for young kids?
There are two. Grimm's Manor is the family-friendly trail and usually runs around 7 PM, while The Shadows is the scary trail, from 8:30 to 10 PM on event nights. Trail tickets are sold separately and tend to sell out fast.
What happens on a typical evening?
Opening night, Friday, October 9, has crafts and pumpkin painting from 5 to 7 PM, carnival games, and a free film at 7 PM. On Sunday, October 18, there is no scary trail and the patch closes at 8:30 PM.
