Hurds Family Farm is a 7th-generation, 125-acre apple orchard on Route 32 in Modena. Its themed Fall Festival weekends run into late October, and u-pick apples run through October 30.
When is it open to families?
Fridays, Mondays in September, and October 12 and 26, from 10 AM to 6 PM, with the last hayride at 4 PM. Weekends use timed tickets, which go on sale the Tuesday before. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are closed to the public.
What do kids do?
Pick apples and pumpkins, ride the hayride, run the corn maze and obstacle course, jump on the bounce pillow and feed the farm animals. Fresh apple cider donuts are made on site.
What is coming up?
The Great Pumpkin Festival runs October 2 to 4, with new pumpkin photo spots, the Pumpkin Throne and a contest to guess the weight of the farm's giant pumpkin.
