Mead Orchards on Scism Road in Tivoli is a family pick-your-own farm that has been growing fruit and vegetables in the Hudson Valley for more than 100 years. Fall apple picking started over Labor Day weekend, and the orchard is open Fridays and weekends through the season.
What are the fall hours?
Fridays 10 AM to 4 PM, and Saturdays and Sundays 10 AM to 5 PM. It is closed Monday through Thursday, except Columbus Day, Monday, October 12, when it is open 10 AM to 5 PM.
Does it cost anything to get in?
No. Parking and entry are both free, and you pay for what you pick.
What is there besides apples?
The farm's fall page lists a corn maze, a pumpkin patch, a scenic hayride and apple cider doughnuts. Kids can also explore Apple Town and a giant caterpillar tunnel.
