Decker Farm on Richmond Hill Road in Staten Island was built in 1810 and is run by Historic Richmond Town as New York City's oldest working family farm. For 2026 its pumpkin picking runs on October weekends, from Saturday, October 3 through Sunday, October 25.
When is it open?
Saturdays and Sundays in October from noon to 5 PM, plus Columbus Day, Monday, October 12. It is closed on other weekdays.
Do we need a separate ticket?
Yes. Decker Farm needs its own ticket, and a general admission ticket to Historic Richmond Town or a Culture Pass does not cover it. Pumpkins are priced by weight.
What will the kids do?
Pick a pumpkin from the patch, ride a tractor-towed hayride around the farm when the fields are not too muddy, try the pumpkin chucking bungee and paint their pumpkins at the painting station. A snack wagon sells fall donuts, pumpkin pie and cider.
What if it rains, and can the dog come?
The farm opens every October weekend rain or shine, and there are no refunds for bad weather unless it closes for severe weather. Leave pets at home; ADA service animals are welcome. The farm has a parking lot, but spots are not guaranteed.
