Smithome Farms on State Route 352 near Big Flats is a seventh-generation family farm, farmed by the Smiths since 1866. Its fall pumpkin patch is open Saturdays and Sundays from September 19 through October 31, 11 AM to 5 PM, plus Columbus Day.
Is there an admission fee?
No. There is no general admission and parking is free. You pay for the pumpkins you pick and buy tickets only for the activities you want, such as the 4-acre corn maze and the hayride.
How much are the pumpkins?
They are priced by size, from $1.00 for a small cannonball pumpkin to $20.00 for the biggest ones. The apple cannon is $5.00 for 6 shots or $10.00 for 14 shots.
Can we bring a stroller or the dog?
Leashed, friendly dogs are welcome if you bring clean-up bags. Strollers can go in the maze, but the paths are rough and can be muddy, so a jogging stroller with big wheels works best.
How long does the corn maze take?
Usually 40 to 60 minutes, depending on whether you look for all the scavenger hunt questions. After heavy rain the maze or hayrides can open late, so check the farm's Facebook page or call 607-562-3878.
