Oil Ranch is a 56-acre ranch on Macedonia Road in Hockley, northwest of Houston. Its fall season opens the first weekend of October and runs through November 21, with a pumpkin patch, hay rides, pony rides and a petting zoo.
What are the fall hours?
Fridays 10 AM to 2 PM, Saturdays 10 AM to 5 PM, and Sundays noon to 5 PM in October only. Weekdays are set aside for field trips booked ahead.
Who needs a ticket, and what is extra?
Everyone 3 and up needs admission, and children 2 and under are free. The ticket covers the train ride, pony rides, hayride, petting zoo and other regular activities. Paddle boats ($15 a boat), gem mining bags and the paintball gallery cost extra.
Do kids get a pumpkin?
Yes. The pumpkin patch is open through October only, and kids 12 and under get one free pumpkin with admission.
Can we bring food or the dog?
On weekends only bottled water and a small snack for young children are allowed, though picnic tables sit outside the entrance. Pets are not allowed, but certified service dogs are. Parking is free.
